Description
Tethys ‘PGI Nicosia’ Xynisteri is coming from a young family vineyard in the high altitude slopes of Farmakas village overlooking Mesaoria plains. It is situated at 1100 meters above sea level and has a northern exposure offering great diurnal swings, making it ideal for producing wines with great acidity levels.
The wine matured for 6 months on the fine lees before bottling. Farma’Tzin Farmakas villages probably gets its name from the fact that monks were collecting herbs for medicines (farmaka - medicines). Another explanation regarding the name of the village is that the name originated from 'Farma'Tzin ' (poison), the bitter cold during the winter months.
