The 2008 vintage La Grande Dame Champagne from Veuve Cliquot, first launched in 1972 for the house's bicentennial as a tribute to Madame Cliquot. Made with 92% Pinot Noir and 8% Chardonnay grapes, it offers notes of almonds, figs, dried apricots, cherry, pears and subtle praline, with a hint of buttery pastry in the finish.
